Project Overview

The Dublin Airport Airside Development Programme was a major Euro 100 million initiative to expand and modernize the airside infrastructure of Ireland’s busiest airport. The programme involved complex engineering works across multiple phases to enhance capacity and operational efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities

Programme Management: Led the Euro 100 million development programme.
Engineering Oversight: Served as the Engineer for works, overseeing implementation.
Project Lifecycle: Managed the entire lifecycle from study and design to tender document preparation, evaluation, and contract award.

Key Projects and Achievements (2007-2008)

Major Infrastructure Works

Project Apron 6: Developed 180,000 sq.m. of PQC (Pavement Quality Concrete) Apron including Aircraft Ground Lighting (AGL). Contract Value: €35 million.
Project 5E: Constructed a Dual Taxiway covering 80,000 sq.m. plus AGL. Contract Value: €16 million.
Project 5B: Developed Apron and Taxiway infrastructure covering 50,000 sq.m. plus AGL. Contract Value: €12 million.
Project Phase 6 Bypass Taxiway M2: Constructed 36,000 sq.m. of taxiway plus AGL. Contract Value: €10.2 million.

Specialized Systems and Utilities

Project MV Phase 1: Implementation of MV Substation and AGL systems. Contract Value: €3.0 million.
Surface Drainage Works: Completed Phase 1 (€4 million) and Phase 2 (€5 million) of critical drainage infrastructure.
Radar Systems: Managed the study and procurement for Primary & Secondary Surveillance Radars. Value: GB£10 million (covering Cardiff and Belfast Airports).
